Students are lead through front and side sketches in the style of Efran Malo before completing a cross hatching self portrait. The slides also cover dry point etching and printing using cereal boxes. A digital Photopea tutorial is also provided for those learning from home or in need of extension work. Finally, a home task in the style of Vik Muniz allows students to think about meaning and concept within portraiture.

A small presentation designed to get pre GCSE Photography students thinking more creatively about the images they take in their own time. The slides suggest possible starting points all linked to the theme of Reflections. There are no technical guides or analytical points, just suggested photographers and potential shoots to try. Has also been set as an online learning project for KS3 students to encourage time away from their screens, whilst still encouraging creativity.

GCSE Photography analysis template for the photographer Sebastian Magnani. The first document asks students to consider the formal elements when analysing the work of reflective photographer Magnani. The accompanying document talks students through the layout of their responses, addressing all AO objectives for GCSE Edexcel Photography.

Presentation introducing students to creating zines as a way of presenting projects. The slides take you through a brief history and holds videos of mini documentaries and how to begin your own outcome. The presentation can be adapted to reflect any completed project or used as a starting point to collect visual ideas and recordings. Excellent stimulus to encourage wider thinking on complex issues within society and how to visually represent them.

A one off Art & Design cover lesson challenging students to create an illustration for a skateboard deck. The sheet explains the task and success criteria, as well as offering visual examples for inspiration. Students are to select one of the eight starting points provided and complete their illustration in the skateboard template, also on the sheet. This task may be extended to allow students to complete their designs digitally, adding colour and texture through Photoshop or Photopea.

A worksheet demonstrating how to achieve a pin hole light illustration in the style of photographer Daniele Buetti. Originally set as an online, distance learning task, it may easily be adapted into a one off cover lesson.

Creates a small A6 booklet for students to take away. You may also print double sided and include the inspiration poster as further prompts.

Visual stimulus for one of art lesson based on Shadowology. These slides introduce the work of illustrator Vincent Bal and encourages students to work creatively in making their own designs. Originally used during distance online learning, students enjoyed working away for the screens and challenging their creative minds. It also acts as great stimulus into creative writing from the characters and senarios created.

Art & Design cover lesson - introducing students to the work of illustrator Sandra Chevrier, who creates portraits with Marvel character masks covering the face. This worksheet has examples of Chevrier’s work and instructs students to complete their own design over the blank portrait to the left of the page. Presentation giving instruction to a group Christmas drawing challenge. Each student is allocated one of 20 squares to complete using tonal shading. Once complete, the squares place together to create a large scale drawing of The Grinch. This was originally carried out as a remote, online task and images pasted together digitally. It may adapted easily for in class purposes.

Once complete, place the squares together and see the large scale, class drawing! Perfect for group activities whilst developing drawing skills. Each character has 12 squares per image. A presentation introducing the street art of Malaysia. Students are guided through inspiration and talking points on the value of street art and more culturally aware designs by Ernest Zacharevic. Originally completed during distance learning, students completed a drawing or painting which interacted with the selection of blank wall space suggested in the slides. Once complete, a simple overlay using SCREEN on Photoshop allowed them to superimpose their designs onto their building or textural surface.

A vocabulary poster with numerous descriptive words to describe texture in Art & Design. The poster covers to sheets of paper and can be printed either A4 or A3 in size. Once joined together on the wall, an easy to access guide to describing work, and specifically line, is displayed in the classroom.
